I agree. The use of two GREATER THAN characters is just a way to emulate a
rightwards arrow using ASCII graphics. That’s OK when you are limited to
ASCII, but when you can use Unicode, there are several arrow or arrowhead
characters to choose from. There is no point in adding a Unicode character
for the “ASCII graphics” >>,
